Why Choose Nolte Academy of Dance? Why

Choose Nolte?

We encourage you to visit dance studios you're considering, and take note of the quality and preparedness of intermediate and advanced dancers. Talk to parents about their experience. Watch a class in progress. Remember that you and your child will invest roughly the same hours and tuition at any studio, but the dance educator you choose can result in vastly different levels of achievement for your child.

Here's what to expect
when you choose the Nolte Academy of Dance

You'll learn correct dance technique.  This is our passion at Nolte, and the reason our dancers earn the recognition they do.  We believe it's far easier to begin your dance training with correct form, building upon solid skills year by year, than to go through the frustration of trying to unlearn and correct spotty training.

You'll dance with professionals. Every member of the Nolte faculty has danced professionally around the country and in some cases around the world.  You'll achieve more as dancer because your teachers have higher expectations, stronger technique, and fresher, more exciting choreography. If you're headed to auditions, you'll be expertly prepared.

You'll have exciting performance opportunities. As a Nolte student, you can be part of high-quality productions throughout the year. Our annual recital, full-length Nutcracker with a live orchestra, UI homecoming float and more give you a chance to share your love of dance with friends, family and the community.

You can audition for the region's most awarded dance team. Nolte's Affect Dance Company, currently competing in the most competitive of dance competitions, continues to earn top honors and awards in every category. If you love competitive dance, Nolte is the place for you. Auditions are open to all current Nolte students, ages 6-18.

You can develop as an artist.  At the Nolte Academy, we offer a strong artistic tradition with a special focus on concert-level choreography. We continue to be amazed at the unique artistic voices we uncover and watch bloom in our dancers.  If you see dance as your art form, you'll find a world of inspiration at Nolte.

You will be respected and appreciated. Leslie Nolte (Founder and Artistic Director of the Nolte Academy, and mother of five) understands what busy parents go through for their children. Leslie and her staff honor and appreciate dancers and their families by providing a safe, happy and respectful learning environment where all students are welcomed and appreciated for their talents.
