young children's programming
Join our very popular Young Children’s Programming — Preschool Playschool -- this fall! Pre-pandemic, we ran Performing Arts Preschool for nine years. We are tapping into our rich preschool curriculum to now offer playschool for ages 3-5. Preschool Playschool meets Monday-Friday from 9:00-11:30 AM this school year and is offered alongside young children’s dance and visual arts classes. You can register for Preschool Playschool one to five days per week, depending on your specific child's interests. Our playschool schedule follows these daily themes: Musical Mondays, Theatre Tuesdays, Wonder Wednesdays, Science Thursdays, and Storybook Fridays.
At Preschool Playschool, we focus on socialization and learning through play in all content areas. We utilize our preschool's daily structure with circle time, centers and snack, emphasizing hands-on, student-centered learning. There is a maximum of 12 children per classroom with 1-2 faculty supporting the students as needed. All classes are taught by our Nolte faculty as the Young Children's Programming team. C is for Community
The world both inside and outside our doors is filled with wonders that preschoolers can learn about. On Wonder Wednesdays, students often explore ideas that connect them to nature and the greater community, including inviting guest artists to share their world with us. Theatre Tuesdays provides a supportive, safe space for young learners to engage in cooperative and dramatic play, honing expression and communication skills.
R is for Rainbows
Visual arts provide an engaging pathway to develop young children's fine motor skills and creative thinking processes. We offer children the opportunity to experiment with a broad range of materials and media, including paper, glue, paints, clay, collage, sculpture and printmaking.
E is for Exploration
Our programming draws on students’ natural curiosities, motivating learners to pursue their interests. During Science Thursdays, we pique their curiosity with STEM activities, building inquiry and problem-solving skills to set the stage for life-long learning. On Storybook Fridays, young learners deep dive into tales from across the globe, exploring places, characters, and the journeys that unfold from the pages.
A is for Advancement
Group learning will take place each day with activities that build student understanding of literacy and numeracy concepts at the preschool level. Hands-on activities include sorting, ordering, matching and categorizing objects, and early literacy practices. These activities align with varied themes explored daily.
T is for Tuneful
On Musical Mondays, children make music through games, chants, rhymes, songs and dances. The use of voice, movement, and simple instruments allow students to discover music fundamentals at the preschool level.
E is for Energy
Dance and movement utilize rhythm, expression, and form in a joyful way to develop large motor skills, coordination, fitness, and balance. Drama draws children into stories that foster the imagination and improve language development, social skills, and expressiveness.
