What is The Company?
The Company is Nolte Academy’s award-winning competition dance company. Members are auditioned dancers who train year-round and rehearse with professional choreographers during the fall to then participate in the regional and national winter/spring competition season.

Why Join The Company?
  • To grow as a performer, artist and individual
  • To forge lasting relationships with your artistic peers
  • To gain experience working in a team environment
  • To participate in judged and competitive performance opportunities

Want to Experience The Company? Join Us!
At camp each August, dancers learn about expectations and involvement and are evaluated during a multi-day audition process. The Company's Co-Directors are Leslie Nolte and Rylee Villhauer. Please direct questions to them via email at info@nolteacademy.com.

Expectations
  • Dancers are permitted two unexcused rehearsal absences per season (illness is excused; please see our general policies to review the illness policy for the 2022-2023 season, which requires students with any symptoms to stay home during the pandemic.)
  • After a second unexcused absence, dancer will meet with directors
  • For excused absence, must tell directors one week in advance (excludes illness, funeral, etc.)
  • Arrive to rehearsals knowing the choreography to avoid time spent reviewing
  • Arrive to rehearsals in proper attire: Correct shoes, no baggy clothing, hair secured away from face
  • Be ready to begin in the studio when rehearsal starts/go to the bathroom before rehearsal

Rehearsal Information
  • Some groups may rehearse on Friday, but most rehearse on Sunday anywhere between 12-9:30 pm. More information to come after casting and when a schedule is created.
  • Rehearsals start with 2-3 hour rehearsal blocks to learn as much of the choreography as possible, then go to one hour on Sundays

Competition Information
  • Competitions run from late March to May. Dates and locations will be chosen and announced soon. More info on safety info/competition process to come.
  • Hotel blocks will be reserved for each competition and families are responsible for making your own reservation.
  • Competition schedules will be released about 1-2 weeks before the competition.
  • Dancers are to arrive 90 min-2 hours early to the competition venue to finish hair/makeup, get into costume, stretch and review with your group before you compete.
  • During awards, please represent Nolte and The Company! Wear your merch and have fun! Pay attention and don’t be on phones!
