2021 Recital Information

To Families taking classes in person and filming onstage: We are just a month away from our production and filming days on the Cornell College stage! Thank you for your patience as we considered so many parts to make this schedule work for all of our students. 

Attached you will find:

1. Recital Production Weeks: May 17-27 - this document lists our schedules by the day. Once you locate your class(es), you will see a 4 step plan. Look at it like downward moving steps on the schedule. 
   
   1. Dressing Room - this means arrive to the venue at that time where we will direct you to your dressing room. There are 8 rooms we will cycle through and clean between classes. Be sure to have your hair and makeup done (more info on that to come) and all of your costumes with you!
      
   2. Stage - from the dressing room, students will be guided to the stage, parents to the theatre for viewing. Our stage time is 15-30 minutes per class depending on the need. For comparison, Hancher stage times per class was 8 minutes. During your stage block, we will rehearse, run the piece and film the piece 2-3x.
      
   3. Photo Area - From the stage, we will head to our photo area where Jim Halvorsen and team will take a group photo of each class. Individual photos if interested to follow. Picture order forms will be available soon. 
      
   4. Dismissed - The time you are free to go UNLESS you have another class. In that case, you’d follow your next time block. 
      
2. Recital Production Weeks: May 17-27 (By Age/Class/Genre) - this document is an easy way to find your class and see in the far right column what day and time you are to be at the theater. 
   

A few notes regarding the scheduling of the filming process:

• While most classes will film on their regular class day, we have some students in 10+ classes. Therefore, some “Tuesday” classes film on an alternate day. The majority of levels were grouped together.
  
• I did my best to avoid conflicts given to us.
  
• At this time, 2 people per family may accompany the student to watch the filming from the audience. *subject to change
  
• Keeping the travel time in mind, I was sure to start later and end earlier than our normal Hancher dress rehearsal plan. 
  
• Coming soon is a detailed plan of what classes WILL NOT be held at Nolte during the May 17-27 filming blocks. Example: Kindercombo meets Tuesday at 430pm, they are scheduled to film at 530pm - this class will not meet at Nolte beforehand on that day. 
  
• Items not yet scheduled: Seniors, Narration Fillers, staged transitions. Seniors know who they are:) and we will be reaching out soon with any need for our narrators.
  

To Families in NOLTE ZOOM and filming at home: 

• You will be receiving a separate email explaining how to record your dance at home. 
  
• These videos will be due by May 27. 
  
• You are also welcome to film AT NOLTE in a studio if you’d like. Please let us know via email and we will schedule your recording with a teacher alone in the room with your student. 
  
• Halvorsen Photography will be offering a day for individual photos to be taken for all of our ZOOM students at the end of May. Stay tuned for the day/time!
  

Costume Notes for clarification:

• A required shoes and tights list will be available in our family google folder Recital 2021 Family Info later this coming week. 
  
• We will have matching masks for all of our students onstage - either black, skin tone or pink. Each class will be assigned a mask color on the shoes/tights list with a link to purchase. We may bulk order and in that case, you will pick up from the front desk and it can be added to your JR account. Stay tuned on this.
